THE LOGO
I chose the image of the knapsack for my logo because it represents travelers in the old days. These travelers would sneak onto trains and boats so that they could visit parts of the country and world they otherwise wouldn’t be able to. Many of them were always on the hunt for their place in this world. They met so many people along the way and formed bonds with individuals across a multitude of landscapes. For many years this is how I saw myself.
I spent a lot of time searching for my place in this world. I formed many relationships along the way and those friends encouraged me to live out my potential - to make my mark in our world. I finally know that I’ve found my home, a place where I can rest my head. I wake up every single day rejuvenated and excited to tell another story. I’d love to have the chance to tell yours!
I AM REFUJAY
If you asked my social media followers what I do, they would likely tell you I'm a photographer. They aren't wrong but that's only part of the story. I am a creative storyteller and I utilize video and photography to captivate my client’s audience.
A few years ago I dedicated myself to building a presence on social media through filmmaking and photography and I’ve been blessed that so may creative artists enjoy my work. When I started this journey I didn’t know anything about visual storytelling. I’ve always loved to write but I wanted to translate that passion into something visual. I got busy teaching myself everything I could about photography and videography, and now I absolutely love what I do! If I’m able to tell your story in a way that captivates your audience and helps them connect with you on a deeper level, then I’ve done my job.
Everyone has a story to tell; whether you are an artist, a musician, or a company with a great mission. In this big world, it can be challenging to get your story out there.
That’s where I come in. My unique approach helps draw your story out of you, turns it into something visually stunning, and helps you get it out there for the world to see.
“Crafting Stories That Inspire”
This is the overall vision of my work. Whether I’m creating a video for my personal library or for a client I dedicate a LOT of time to storytelling. Telling a story in an emotionally captivating and visually stunning film, in my opinion, is the most effective way to inspire others. I’m constantly writing notes as ideas come to me and I’ll draw specific shots in my notebook for every project (even though I’m not a great sketch artist).
I believe that my process is what will help tell the message of the film. Next comes the storyboard and then shoot, edit, refine, deliver! I’m passionate about what I do and I’d love to work with you to help tell your story in a visually stunning way.
